Help! My Upline Has Quit and I Have No Network Marketing Leadership

As I meet people in this industry across the world, sometimes I hear some complaints. Imagine that. A common complaint in Network Marketing is when people’s upline quit or they have no Network Marketing leadership.

Have you ever heard someone complain about that before? Hopefully no one in your team is saying that because that would mean you aren’t doing your job as an upline.

You may have heard something like this (hopefully you’re not the one saying it):

‘My sponsor has quit.’

‘My upline isn’t active.’

‘I have no Network Marketing leadership.’

‘There is no one to teach me the system or guide me through the process.’

In today’s article, we’re going to put the kibosh on all of the complaining about leadership.

When I hear that type of complaining my initial thought is to grab those people by the throat and just shake them. I would look them dead in the eye and tell them to stop complaining. Don’t wait for someone else to lead you, step up and do it yourself!

In this industry you have to be a self-starter. Be your own leader. You don’t have to wait for someone to tell you what to do or to get to work. This isn’t your paycheck job. There are no bosses. Lead yourself and take some initiative for your own business.

You’re in business for yourself so do what you need to do to create some success. You may be like I was when I first started this business. I was a great follower and I had no leadership skills. I would have made a great employee but a terrible boss.

The best part about this industry is the person you can become as you work your business. When I first started, I honed in on two areas of personal weakness, public speaking and leadership.

Before I developed the skills, I relied on other people to lead me but now, I can lead myself. I worked a lot on myself and nurtured those qualities to grow into strong abilities.

The bit of encouragement in all of this is that, even if you don’t have the leadership qualities now, they CAN be developed.

In Network Marketing, we’re in the leader producing business. If you’re not leading someone then you can’t produce leaders. If you don’t produce leaders you’re not going to create any substantial income. You have to be able to drive depth to create anything of substance.

I heard it said one time at a training that if you’re heading in a direction as a leader and no one is following you then you’re just on a walk. That is so true.

Develop yourself so you can lead yourself and then others. Produce other leaders and lead them in the direction of success. People are going to do what you do not what you say.

In your team, do you want to create an atmosphere of good habits or bad habits? Of leader producing habits or leader crushing habits? What’s the culture that you want to create?

Stop complaining about having no Network Marketing leadership. Lead your stinking self. It’s very simple, like most things in Network Marketing, but that doesn’t make it easy.
